THE ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Art is Freedom – and it also gives me the freedom to use my creativity to participate in the shaping of our world. Through capturing color and light in glass, I tell stories about what touches and inspires me. This allows for the opportunity to reach others and create connections. My work expresses ease and joy in life. I love the vibrant colors of glass combined with the material’s fragility and transparency.
I draw inspiration from the cycles in nature and from encounters with other people. It is especially during my travels that I realize how colorful and incredibly diverse the world is. The transfer to glass can be rather concrete, but it can also become abstract in form and color. There is a flowing rhythm to my creations that feels like it transcends the glass and continues on the outside of it. This constitutes the opportunity for interpretation and my glass art finds its final form in the eye of those observing it.
Through my year long experience and the continuous exchange with other artists I have been able to hone skills and my craftsmanship. This expertise widens my artistic capabilities to express myself and I continue to learn and improve myself every day.
